The Avaya DECT Avaya InBuilding Wireless Server R2 Standard (700501482) is the application server for the DECT R4 system that has replaced the AIWS1 design. The IP Office 8.0 supports the AIWS2. The AIWS2 can run applications such as SMS messaging, centralized phonebook, and corporate directory access. The AIWS2 supports centralized device management, including firmware and configuration upgrades over the air. For installation and maintenance, this server is managed by a PC using Windows Internet Explorer (7.0 or above) and Sun’s Java Runtime Environment.

Several variants of the server are available but there is no upgrade available between variants. The AIWS2 Standard Variant features up to 120 handsets, NTP Server, Central Phonebook, Corporate Directory Access (TFTP from IP Office), SMS Support, Basic Web Messaging, Netpage Web Messaging, Over-the-Air Handset Software Upload, Over-the-Air Handset Configuration Upload, Handset Software Upload via Advanced/Rack Charger, Handset Configuration Upload via Advanced/Rack Charger, and Virtual SIM Card. The AIWS2 Standard has a built-in power supply and included wall mounting brackets.
