The Avaya DECT Avaya InBuilding Wireless Server R2 Basic (700501480) or simply known as the AIWS2 is an application server for the DECT R4 system that has replaced the AIWS1 design. The AIWS2 can run applications such as SMS messaging, centralized phonebook, and corporate directory access. It supports centralized device management, including firmware and configuration upgrades over the air.

The IP Office 8.0 supports the AIWS2. The AIWS2 unit has included wall mounting brackets and built-in power supply. Various other mounting kits are available. The AIWS is supplied with a number of power leads suitable for most locales. This server is managed by a PC using Windows Internet Explorer (7.0 or above) and Sun’s Java Runtime Environment, for installation and maintenance. Several variants of the server are available. There is no upgrade available between variants. The AIWS2 Front Panel includes Power LED, Status LED, Mode Switch and LED, Restart Switch, SD Card Slot, USB Ports, and Management Port. The Rear Panel includes LAN 1, LAN 2, and Power Connectors.
